Service Description

The Substance Abuse Counselling Certificate will provide theoretical and applied steps to working with clients who have issues with addiction. This training will explore the pharmacology of various addictive substances, strategies to improve the odds of recovery and decrease the chances of relapse, motivational interview techniques, the role of trauma in addictions and how counter-transference affects the victims In order to earn this certificate, you will have to complete the following workshops: - General Pharmacology Overview of Substances - Recovery Enhancement and Relapse Prevention - The Counter-Transference ‘Trap’ Within Addictions & Mental Health - Trauma-Informed Addictions Practices: A Bottom-Up Approach - Polyvagal Training This certificate is suitable for: Mental health professionals, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Medical professionals, Front-line workers such as nurses, clergy, social workers, and residential workers who provide services to vulnerable populations
